Qualifications and Experience

Professional Requirements:

  • Grade 12 minimum requirement.
  • 3 years’ experience in automotive industry specializing in Utilities.
  • Certificated as a qualified millwright.
  • Familiar with 2D and 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools.
  • Listening and questioning skills.
  • Individual who takes initiative and is pro-active.
  • Must be flexible to work additional hours at short notice due to operational requirements.
  • Own reliable transport required.


Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting and handing of all Mechanical faults and on Utilities equipment (Compressors, HVAC, Extraction systems, fluid delivery systems, cooling towers etc).
  • Assist engineers with asset care development for electrical and mechanical utilities equipment and carry out routine inspections.
  • Assist with the upkeep and spare parts availability for mechanical equipment.
  • Assist Engineers to formulate technical documents for the safe operation procedures, technical standards and work instructions of utilities equipment in accordance with OHS regulations.
  • Electrical and mechanical technical support on utilities equipment and also support production artisans on production equipment when needed.
  • Responsible for energy consumption monitoring and energy saving initiatives.
  • Reduce downtime and ensure normal operations of equipment.
  • Daily management of work logs, trouble logs, equipment records.
  • Assist with the upkeep of spare parts availability for utilities equipment.
  • To undertake continuous improvement activities.
  • To solve day-to-day issues.
  • To continually promote company philosophies, policies and values.
  • Take an active part in identifying and maintaining plant health and safety.
  • Actively promote good housekeeping practices to ensure work area is always kept tidy and clean.
