Qualifications and Experience

Educational Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering qualification


Professional Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large industrial facility within a repair and maintenance engineering environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing all aspects of engineering projects.
  • Experience with Energy media systems especially (Compressed Air systems, HVAC, water reticulation systems and cooling towers)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills advantageous.
  • Knowledge of programming software such as PLC, HMI and automation
  • Listening and questioning skills.
  • Individual who takes initiative and is pro-active.
  • Application of 2D and 3D drawings software
  • Must be flexible to work additional hours at short notice due to operational requirements
  • Own reliable transport required


Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, analyse, troubleshoot problems on mechanical utilities equipment. (compressors, HVAC, extraction systems, fluid delivery systems, cooling towers)
  • Asset care development for mechanical utilities equipment, carry out routine inspections, regular calibration and other precision assurance work.
  • Spare part planning, procurement, delivery inspections and optimum spare parts stock management.
  • To formulate technical documents for safe operations procedures, technical standards and work instructions of machinery utilities equipment, and supervise and manage the implementation in accordance with OHS.
  • Responsible for technical support for mechanical problems, equipment failure analysis, continuous improvement, energy consumptions monitoring, energy saving initiatives and other mechanical maintenance work.
  • To undertake continuous improvement activities.
  • To solve day-to-day issues.
  • To continually promote company philosophies, policies and values.
  • Ensure quality requirements are adhered too.
  • Take an active part in identifying and maintaining plant health and safety.
  • Actively promote good housekeeping practices to ensure work area is always kept tidy and clean.
